Research and Development
The mission of PCI Research and Development includes identifying, funding, and executing programs necessary to advance the industry; and disseminating the results of these programs. The PCI Research and Development Council works toward this mission in three ways: specially funded projects, Daniel P. Jenny Fellowships, and partnerships with research centers
Research Project Request for Proposals
The PCI Research and Development Council requests proposals for a project entitled “Development of a Simplified Blast Design Procedure and Response Limits for Load-Bearing Precast Wall Panels Subject to Blast Loads.” The research project is intended to provide more data for precast concrete panel response under blast loading. The findings are intended to help produce new or adjust existing design requirements for load-bearing, precast concrete construction. Currently, this type of construction is penalized when compared to other types of construction under blast loadings due to lack of data. The project is intended to start in the summer of 2013 with completion in spring of 2016.
View the RFP by clicking here. Proposals are due at PCI headquarters (submittal instructions are located within the RFP) no later than 12:00 p.m. Central on May 7, 2013.
Research Project Reports
As research projects are completed, reports are submitted and, in most cases, peer-reviewed papers are published in the PCI Journal. Links are provided in this area of the website to the final reports. The website does not currently have the capability to search the reports for keywords. Reports are simply listed in alphabetical order.
For corresponding papers, please refer to www.pci.org/publications/journal.
